Hypertension is long term medical condition in which the blood pressure in the arteries is persistently elevated. It is classified into Primary ( Essential) and Secondary Hypertension. High blood pressure usually does not cause symptoms and hence it's known as Silent Killer. Normal blood pressure at rest is within the range of 100–140 mmHg systolic and 60–90 mmHg diastolic. High blood pressure is present if the resting blood pressure is persistently at or above 140/90 mmHg for most adults.

Hypertension leads to Cardiovascular Diseases (CVDs), which are a group of disorders of the heart and blood vessels. Acc. to an estimate, approx. 17.5 million people died from CVDs in 2012, representing 31% of all global deaths. The risk factors can be eliminated/ prevented by adapting certain lifestyle modification techniques n switching on to a better n healthier lifestyle.
Get physically active, keep yourself moving. Do exercises n work-outs: be it jogging, walking, cycling, swimming, or even gardening.
Add up a lot of fresh fruits n veggies in ur diet, avoid junk food, avoid taking too much oily n spicy stuff daily, cut out salt intake, try not to take too much sugary dishes.
